Our Mission

RogueMeta exists to answer one question: what's actually winning right now? Not what a single streamer thinks, not what was strong six patches ago — but what the community at large, from Reddit to Discord to high-Ascension players, has determined to be the current meta.

Roguelike deckbuilder games are uniquely challenging to analyze because the meta evolves with every patch. Characters get buffed and nerfed. Synergies get discovered and patched out. RogueMeta tracks all of it — updating tier lists and build guides within 48 hours of every major patch.

We believe that the collective intelligence of tens of thousands of dedicated players produces more accurate tier assessments than any single expert. Our job is to aggregate that intelligence and present it clearly.

Methodology

1

Aggregate

We monitor Reddit, Discord, YouTube, and Steam community discussions for strategy insights, win-rate data, and high-Ascension player reports across every covered game.

2

Analyze

We distill community consensus into structured tier lists and build guides. Every rating reflects collective player experience — not any single person's opinion.

3

Update

Within 48 hours of every game patch, we re-evaluate and update our guides. If the meta shifts, we shift with it — keeping you ahead of the curve on every run.

Tier placements are based on performance across all skill levels, with extra weight given to high-Ascension (10+) consistency. We clearly distinguish between beginner-friendly assessments and top-level play evaluations when relevant.

What We Cover

RogueMeta focuses on roguelike deckbuilder games — games that combine card-based mechanics with roguelike progression. Our current coverage includes:

Slay the Spire 2 (primary coverage) — character tier lists, build guides for all characters, archetype rankings, and patch-by-patch meta analysis.

Balatro — Gold Stake meta, Joker synergies, and stake difficulty guides.

Best-of lists — genre rankings and "worth playing" assessments for adjacent games like Monster Train 2, Hades 2, Inscryption, and more.

We add new game coverage when there's sufficient community interest and enough high-level play data to make meaningful analysis.
