1. Information We Collect
RogueMeta does not directly collect personally identifiable information. We do not have user accounts, contact forms, or any mechanism by which you submit personal data to us directly.
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics automatically collects:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- General geographic location (country/region level — not precise location)
- Browser type, operating system, and device type
- How you arrived at our site (referral source, search terms)
- Anonymized IP address
This data is collected in aggregate and is used only to understand site performance and improve content. We cannot identify individual visitors from this data.
2. Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to track session information and distinguish between new and returning visitors. These cookies are:
- _ga — Distinguishes users. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_<ID> — Maintains session state. Expires after 2 years.
These are analytics cookies only. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party marketing technology beyond Google Analytics.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings.
3. How We Use Information
The analytics data we collect via Google Analytics is used exclusively to:
- Understand which pages and guides are most useful to visitors
- Identify and fix technical issues (e.g., high bounce rates indicating broken pages)
- Prioritize new content based on what readers are searching for
- Monitor site performance and optimize page load times
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics 4, operated by Google LLC. Google may use the data collected to contextualize and personalize ads in its own advertising network, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
Cloudflare Pages — Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect access logs and technical data as part of its network operations. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Google Fonts — We load web fonts from Google Fonts servers. This may result in your IP address being sent to Google. See Google Fonts Privacy.
5. Data Retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted from Google's servers. We do not maintain any separate database of visitor information.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR or CCPA) including the right to access, correct, or delete data about you.
Since RogueMeta does not collect personally identifiable information directly, most individual data requests would need to be directed to Google (for Analytics data) or Cloudflare (for server logs). We will assist with any requests to the extent possible given our technical setup.
7. Children's Privacy
RogueMeta is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through our site, please contact us so we can address it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
